Thank your own personal diety — possibly Jubileus The Creator — it’s Friday. I’ve sourced you some decent bargains on future prospects, NBA 2K24, and Super Mario Wonder. There are also some litter picks of (presumably) overstocked products from that Amazon Prime Day just passed. Go full vulture mode and swoop in for some easy pickings.
Lastly, it’s been eight years to the day since we slogged inexorably towards a mountain peak in Journey (on PS4). Sometimes on our own. Sometimes with a mysterious, nameless stranger with whom we shared a deep, unspoken, I-can’t-kill-you-so-let’s-co-op bond. What a magical experience. A true Play Before You Die masterpiece that you can still buy today.

It Takes Two
It Takes Two is a spectacular co-op adventure that lays down a path of great gameplay ideas and uses it to play a giddy game of hopscotch. 9/10, amazing. Not convinced? It also landed GOTY at the 2021 Game Awards.

Red Dead Redemption 2
RDR 2 stands shoulder-to-shoulder with GTA V as one of the greatest games of the modern age. It’s a gorgeous depiction of an ugly period that’s patient, polished, and a ton of fun to play, and it’s combined with Rockstar’s best storytelling. 10/10.

Starfield
The first genuinely new property from Bethesda in 25 years, Starfield is a spacefaring action RPG from the makers of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Looks amazing. Can’t wait to launch into it.

Elden Ring
Basically, the Souls game that dethroned the venerated Bloodborne as FromSoftware’s best. Hell, it’s amongst the best open-world games you’ll ever play. Period. Like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before it, Elden Ring pushes the genre forward.
